Interview with Global SAP Partner itelligence about their SAP Business Innovation Odyssey entry.
It’s every university’s goal to prepare students successfully for the labour market, a research career or postgraduate study. That means having the tools to give students the right support from enrolment to graduation, so they can focus all their attention on their studies.
In response, we developed it.education, our integrated student lifecycle management solution, based on years of experience implementing best practice student information systems in the education sector. It supports all study-related processes – from online registration and course schedules to virtual learning environments and exam grades – with self-service access for students and faculty members alike.
We decided to build the technology platform based on open standards and SAP’s Rapid Deployment Solutions template. This resulted in a flexible, scalable solution that could be incorporated into a university’s existing IT landscape and managed on premise or in the cloud. This also ensured the platform would be within affordable reach of any institution, and could be implemented quickly to a fixed scope with minimal upheaval.
We entered it.education in the 2013 SAP Business Innovation Odyssey competition, for innovation in Mobility, Cloud, Analytics and SAP HANA. We battled our way into the final, pitching our entrepreneurial concept to SAP’s judging panel, and were thrilled to emerge as one of the winners.
Our success in the SAP Business Innovation Odyssey has been a huge boost to our business. For a start, they were able to help us in Marketing and Business Development. We enjoy a very open collaboration with SAP, being invited to several events such as the Public Sector Summit, as well as various user groups and advisory councils. The presence of it.education on SAP’s website as an RDS solution, and the availability of the software through the SAP store, has given our marketing efforts a huge boost and driven awareness of itelligence as a global partner.
We’re constantly working to evolve the solution with technical and functional extensions, such as mobile access and integration with the SAP HANA platform. And we’re delighted to say that it.education has already been widely adopted by universities the world over.
