Answer text editor strange behavior

Hi,

Every once in a while the text editor, for answering a question, will start behaving strangely.

For example, while typing the caret may jump to the beginning of the line, and everything typed, will continue from there. Placing the caret back at the end of the line, does not help. Press any key, and the caret will jump to the start of the line again. If you place the caret anywhere before the last letter in that line, you can type normally.

Another phenomenon is some sort of weird autocorrect. The following screenshot shows this. Here I was trying to type "Regards,", when I noticed that the editor had all of a sudden changed the text:

On the few occasions that this happens, closing and reopening the page and/or browser, will solve the problem.

Regards,

Johan

Perhaps of interest, I had just used the browser's translate function on the question.

Just double checked, and it appears that translating a page with the browser's built-in function, will cause both behaviors. Once used, all entered text will immediately be translated. Apparently "rega" translates to "water" in Portuguese.

Possibly a Windows feature, completely unrelated to SAP = Settings > Time & Language > Typing > Autocorrect misspelled words:

Checked that, but it was all turned off. In my case, I use Edge. The jumping of the caret I have not been able to duplicate yet.

I have been able to duplicate all strange behavior described, by using the browser's page translation function.

It appears that once the question has been translated, the browser function wil also actively try to translate any text that you write in the answer text editor, while you are typing. Apparently this includes punctuation, but it all depends on what language was originally translated.

Please note, that I use Microsoft Edge. I cannot say for sure if the same behavior happens in other browsers.

Regards,

Johan
