TRANSFERRING ECTR DOCUMENT CHARACTERISTICS TO WINDOWS

Hello everyone,

We see a document that we exported from ECTR on the Windows screen as follows.

There are many characteristics of the document on the Windows screen.
Is it possible to match some characteristics in ECTR with Windows characteristics?

Why is this necessary and important?
Users classify the documents they export according to their attributes. However, since document name = document number, it is not possible to classify them outside of #ECTR

If it could be assigned according to its attributes, it would be a great ease of work.

Is it possible to do such a process?

Hello nkara,

showing CAD file attributes within windows explorer (columns) is out of scope for ECTR. This is the responsibility of the CAD vendor and how the file format is defined.

Please check with the CAD vendor.

Hi Gerhard, The ones I show in the picture are not CAD parameters, they are characteristics defined in SAP and matched with ECTR. They are generally needed, specially defined characteristics. My opinion is that if ECTR included this subject in its scope, it would gain a very different dimension. If it is still not possible, there is nothing to do. 🙂 Thanks

maybe we need to distinguish 2 steps:

1. Sync attributes from SAP into the CAD files properties, see admin guide, chapt. 12.1 Attribute transfer from the SAP system to an application
2. Display CAD file properties in Windows Explorer: the CAD application needs to expose the file properties, so that the windows explorer can visualize them. Nothing ECTR can help, but the CAD vendor and Microsoft.
