Relaxed Flow not working in Work Center POD

Hi Everyone,

I am using production order and order-specific-routing with Relaxed flow as true.

When i am trying to start the second operation (instead of first), it says not possible. Can you please suggest why it is not possible? As per my understanding, if we set relaxed flow as true, it should start and complete the operations parallelly.

Hope to get some clarity on this.

Thanks,

Nikhil Gupta

Hi,

With Relaxed Flow ON, you can have a QTY > 1 SFC active in multiple operations at the same time.

With Relaxed Flow OFF, you can´t start the next operation until the whole qty is completed in the previous operation.

Hope it helps,

Hi Manoel,

Thank you for looking into this.

In our case, we have changed the Relaxed Flow as "True" and we have SFC with quantity as 1 only.

We have 3 operations 10, 20 and 30 for the same SFC and user wants to start any of the operation at any time.

Like - They can start/complete the 20 operations, before starting the operation 10.

But even changing the Relaxed Flow as "True", it is not allowing to start the 20 operations before starting the 10 operations.

Hope I am able to explain.

Note - We tried using Work Center POD, Operation Activities POD and also using the Production process to start the operation. But nothing is working.

Thanks,

Nikhil Gupta

Hi, I clearly understand your requirements. However, this is definitely not what Relaxed Flow is used for. Above, I showed in detail what actually Relaxed Flow is for and how it works. I believe there is probably more than one way to address your requirement, you can evaluate running production orders in Order POD (see: https://community.sap.com/t5/supply-chain-management-blogs-by-sap/executing-discrete-production-orde...) with 'Quantity Validation' as NO (see: https://help.sap.com/docs/sap-digital-manufacturing/execution/routings-with-quantity-validation) and explore Any-Order Group Routing (see: https://help.sap.com/docs/sap-digital-manufacturing/execution/creating-any-order-group-routing), for example. In any case, Relaxed Flow is definitely NOT what you are looking for. Br, Manoel

Hi Nikhil, it really seems you are looking for "Any Order Groups" or even "Simultaneous Groups" in your Routing structure. Those would allow to deviate from the operation sequence, and in the case of Simultaneous Groups, even allow parallel processing of a single SFC in multiple operations at the same time. But, please be aware, that those structures are not dircetly supported by ERP or the ERP integration.
