Material allocation into alternative sequence

Hello,

we have the following business case.

There are 3 machines that are producing the same material but in the BOM we have a item (C) that will be used only in the machine 3. (we are using only one production version)

We try to allocate item C at the alternative sequence of the machine 3. But when we open the production order, it seems that the item C is allocate to the standard machine.

Can you please explain why is it not allocate to the alternative machine? is this not standard?

thank you!

Hi!

If this is a question about SAP Manufacturing Execution indeed, then it is not clear where you see "that the item C is allocate to the standard machine".

If an operator uses CT500 to assemble the component, he should either use Find Component field to find the alternate (or assemble alternate's Inventory), or manually select the alternate component in Component Details section of CT500.

If the machine triggers a PAPI/WS Assembly call to SAPME where the alternate is specified, the system will identify the respective component and execute the assembly action.

Regards,

Sergiy

In POD, Component List plugin shows only main components for the current operation. When you select the main component in Component List plugin, then you can switch to its alternate in Assembly Point plugin (CT500). For this, you should manually select this alternate component in Component Details section.
