Handling specifications that are not needed any more

Hi,

Does anybody have suggestions on the easiest way to handle specifications in the system that are not being used anymore? (including dependent data such as DG master and Hazardous Substance master)

For e.g.: Removing material assignments, setting deletion indicator to the spec header etc.

Thanks!

Dear all

if we talk about (as example) a REAL_SUB with assigned material number:

If i remember correct: you can not delete the REAL_SUB if one of these conditions are fulfilled

1.) you have a "WWI" like report in status "released" or "historical"

2.) the REAL_SUB is used as a component

3.) Not sure (to long ago): if there is an material number assignment

There is a huge number of options in EHS to handle your situation.

1.) E.g. use the "Status" on level of the spec header

2.) use of e.g. special substance authorization groups (in which only experts done have "write" access

etc.

Which option you use... it is yoru decision

Hello Neeraj,

we created custom program based on the time stamp last modified. Didn't find standard or easiest way to do this.

Thanks

Hello Neeraj,

Deleting specifications is not possible once you have had a released report assigned to it.

Therefore I would recommend to assign a different Authorization Group - e.g. "OBSOLETE" - and not assign the rights to display this Authorization Group to "normal user" so they will not be able to see these obsolete specifications....
