Hello Experts,
I am facing the Regulatory list issue while doing the CG33 Specification Import.
I am importing the UN_LIST_SUB Specs using CG33 Spec Import. Please find the issues details below,
Issue :
In-fact , Regulatory list data which is present in DAT file assigned successfully,(But with extra Regulatory lists)
But,
Why the extra Regulatory list is automatically assigned to the few identifiers?
How to resolve this ?
Will this cause any problem ?
How to prevent this in future imports ?
Please provide your comments for the above issue . This will help me a lot.
Thank you so much in advance,
Best regards
Chowdary R

Hello
based on your feedback:
Please find my comments below,
1.) do you generate a new spec by using import? YES
2.) do you "update" an existing spec by import? YES
3.) What happens if you maintain the identifier manually in the system using CG02? Are the "regulatory lists" as well "assigned" (so that we get 10) to the "identifier"?
NO. When i create identifiers manually, regulatory list is not getting assigned automatically
4.) What "regulatory lists" are added? Are these "DG lists"? YES. The extra DG Regulations are getting assigned
I try to read once again between the lines.
Let us start simple, We ignore the option that your dat file might be "SERC" related and stick to theory.
The "dangerous goods management" handling is very special in EHS. You need to understand by "heart" the law theory and the EHS theory.
Let us start very simple: by using an object like "UN_LIST_SUB" we try to manage data in EHS which are in most cases > 99% regular driven
Let us use as an example the "ADR" regulation valid in europe. Let us check for one entry in this list. Let us use example
"TOLUEN - UN 1294 - Gefahrnr. 33 - ERICard-Nr. 3-11 - UN1294"
Then the story runs as:
in ADR we have a "UN number 1294" describing "TOLUEN" (CAS No. 108-88-3).
In ADR the chemical object "TOLUEN" has assigned
1.) UN Number 1294
2.) and a number of "texts" (in several languages) describing the chemistry (just names)
3:) It is classified as DG of type class 3, packaging group II (and lot of more data)
In EHS this does mean: we need an identfier "UN" (of type NUM) and an identfier of "NAM" (I believe it is NAM DG) to store the "names"
Next step is: you execute an inquiry in other DG regulations: You will realize that all of them use the same "NUM UN" for toluene.
So our NUM UN is "listed" on many lists (e.g. IMDG, IATA ...)
Now depending on the content of the dat file (and how you have done the upload)
ideally you will generate one "UN_LIST_SUB" with one ! NUM UN having assigned a number of "regulatory lists"
For NAM DG it might be little bit more complex; but for Toluene it will fit (if i remember correct, but because of small "language differences) you might get a conflict in names in language "EN" and "PT" (british / american english) so you need different identifiers
For generating the identfiers of a "UN_LIST_SUB" you should do it with one "dat" file
Based on your explanations i have the feeling that
1.) either you use the wrong sequence for loading dat files
2.) or the dat files do not contain what you expect
On top: you must seperate the "initial" generation from an "update". The Update is very very tricky !!! (especially for identfiers); and can not explain here the full story
But what is clear: if you maintain data mainually. Nothing happens: But if you uplaod something happens. As "manual" and "load option" use in the background (very deep) the same ABAP routines we can explain you finding only by checking deeper the content of the "dat files" and your exact load approach.
DG data is as such not easy to handle in the system (as mentioned above); you need to have a very good understanding of the data model. And there are some options how you can use the data model (even if there exists some Best practise")
Reading betwen the lines this would be my assumption
1.) using load step one you generate the "UN_LIST_SUB"
2.) using steg two: you now add "DG" related content (so may be one file for IMDG / IATA, a different file for USDOT etc.)
And this might be the reason of the assignment of the many "DG lists"; which as such can make a lot of sense
