Error in Phrase import ... Number range

Hi guys,

Hope your doing well,

Here i have a query i'm trying to Export & import phrases master from one client to another client.

Some phrases exported i exported some 423 phrases but only other system only 137 phrases are imported (which i gave the phrase key manually)

but i cant able the automatic system phrase key phrases.

Job log showing following error. But i create manually i can able to create the phrases with system generated key100000000000 like this i cant able able to get 423 phrases fully.

please help me on this.

Got the solution i removed the phrase key in dat file now system can able to create the number range by its own.

Can i give the phrase key in  upload file or system will automatically generate HOW CAN I GIVE THE NUMBER RANGE IF I WANT PHRASE KEY AS LIKE THIS 1000000000000000

External number is A & Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz when try to change the number to 00000000000 and 8999999999 like IE its throwing error overlap please send me number range how can I maintain .... I'm trying lsmw it also throwing I maintain back end setting same like other system I want move phrases from that system ..... I manually given phrase is that phrases was transferred but not system given number.

Please help which is better import export or ALE or lsmw or BDC or idoc tell me clearly sir I'm in confusion mode I tried ALE also but it is not working its throwing some spool job error .

Satya,

First and foremost you need to determine against which number range the import program is importing. This can be found in the job logs of SM37. Please find the number range and check if it matches with the defined number range in SPRO.

Hi Satya,

Please check which number range (0E, 0I or 1E) the error logs are pointing towards..If required, check also in SM37 for job logs.If the phrase key numbers provided by in the upload .DAT doesn't match with the numbers available in the internal number range pointed by the error logs, it won't import. Match the number ranges, or remove the range overlaps and try again.

I am not sure about your feedback. Ay explained. For ALE as well customizing is an very important topic.

In any case: Phrase ALE is explained here:

Distributing Phrases Manually - Basic Data and Tools (EHS-BD) - SAP Library

You can have two types of set up: do it manually or you can do itautomatic (e.g. this is needed forDG purposes mainly)

I have checked this FORUM. May be take a look at these threads (not all are 100% related to discussion; but might be helpful in any case):

Most of the topics as listed discuss distributed SAP syste, set up; some of the threads are phrase related (but not that much)

Several threads of mainy kind (e.g. two SAP systems; IMport, export, Migration etc.)

PLease describe your issues. As with specification import: I believe for phrase import there is as well a paramter to use the "external" ids as "ID"s (but customizing must be there)

External as: CUST-H02; in most cases like CUST-Number the number is generated by the system; there as key "h02" is generated by user.

PS: keep in mind this: on target system a job is running tobook the phrase IDOCs: the "owner" of this JOB must have high access rights as the system generates the phrase

PPS: keep in mind CUSTOMZING IS THE KEY: E.g. if you have a source system with SAP languages "turkey" activated but target system, does not know languagey "turkey" you need to adapt ALE design (it is possible by using an exit)

LAST PPS

You can use ALE one SAP system e.g. between client 100 and 200 as well; in most cases ALE is used for distributed landscapes two SAP systems)

check customizing; check how you have started the import (there are some flags for phrase import showing up in the screen) (check once againb: Phrase Import - Basic Data and Tools (EHS-BD) - SAP Library)

Principly: anything depends more or less on the phrase export. Here you have as "external" keys (like H02)

Looking on tthe other screenshot: system can not creae the key; for keys therd is a number range etc,

Anx this number ranges (internal keys; externaly keys)  is may be not set up properly.

Please explain: is this a one and only action? if not: then please use ALE for distrbution of phrases (but as well here you ned to look for phrase customizing). For ongong purposes ALE is a better tool to distribute phrases and content of them
