Easy Expert functionality does not contain specific characteristic of a Value Assignment

We are looking to add GB Validity Area to existing instances based on certain Value Assignments as instructed by our Product Safety and Regulatory Affairs dept. I plan to utilize Easy Expert functionality to do this.

However on checking the functionality, I've encountered a problem to one specific Value Assignment: Hazard Ingredients.

I accessed Easy Expert function via MORE > UTILITIES > SETS OF RULES > NEW while in t/code CG02 when in a spec.

In the Value Assignment section, I selected Change Existing Value Assignment and enter into the Multiple Selection button to specify my requirements.

Specifically Hazard Ingredients, the only field listed is REMARKS on the Easy Expert Characteristic Changes box.

Is there a way to include other Characteristics to a specific Value Assignment currently not present within the Easy Expert function, please?

I plan to include an additional GB Validity entry to existing instances but only based on specific Hazard Comp rule entry that appears in SOURCE NOTE characteristic.

We need to have this option otherwise it will have a negative impact on our data load plans on our live system.

o Maria,

EasyExpert can only read "normal" characteristics, the source does not belong to those. So I am afraid you cannot use EasyExpert for this use case.

Ralph

Hi Ralph, thanks for your reply. In that case, what is the alternative as our business requirements needs to proceed with this avenue? Is there an alternative solution like Quickloader if we devise a load sheet to add using CG33 functionality?

Hi Maria,

you can try loading the data or create your own Expert rule set to write the data as you need them.

Best regards,

Ralph

Hi Ralph, creating our own expert rule is one way but it would create a separate instance as opposed to adding an additional Validity Area entry to an existing instance in Hazard Ingredients. Unless it is possible to do this? Are you able to provide a link or some documentation to help support this, please? Thanks in advance. Best, Maria

Hi Maria,

You're right, I didn't think about that one. So you can only try doing a data load without deleting any data.

Best,

Ralph

Hi Ralph, thinking on dataload method, I'm not sure that's even a possibility now on checking transaction CG33 > Parameters button. There is nothing on there re Value Assignment controls in general, let alone settings options to make this work. Going back to creating an expert rule, in SPRO > EHS > Manage User Exits, there are a number of Function Modules prefixed with C1E5_SUB_EXPERT**. For standard EHS Expert Rules, the FM uses 'C1E5_SUB_EXPERT_EVALUATE'. Would one of those be a workable solution in terms of inserting an additional Validity Area entry into an existing and specific instance? I'm sorry for the twenty questions, it's like a puzzle piece right now that I'm keen to solve. Thanks in advance. Best, Maria

Hi Maria,

If you have different data origin and provider per instance you could use deletion type 2 in the parameters of CG33. That is something you need to check. If several instances have the same data origin and provider then it will be impossible, I'm afraid. As to the function modules: I don't read ABAP so I can't comment here.

Best regards,

Ralph
