Displaying of work instructions in SAP Digital Manufacturing

We have integrated work instructions in SAP Digital Manufacturing. The instruction itself is stored in SAP ERP (Document Management System), it has a document record which is added in the routing as PRT.

In SAP Digital Manufacturing at Order Download the work instruction is created and visible in the POD.

However, when opening it from the POD, it is not directly displayed. Instead, it is downloaded and afterwards can be open. For the operators, it would be easier if the document would be open directly, without the downloading. Is it possible to achieve this in SAP Digital Manufacturing?

Hi Andra,

The problem is the link created by DMS for work instruction does not have extension for your WI file, the URL does not end with file extension like .pdf. This is why the WI is downloading every time. We are facing this issue in one of our project.

You should create DMS WI as a url with file extension do not upload direct file from your desktop, have a file link from the share point.
