Hello

In standard, MRP does not consider the batch expiration date while planning, so you won't find a solution in standard to automatically consider batches with 50% shelf life in MRP.

I have seen companies implementing BAdIs to exclude expired batches from the MRP run, but I don't think they would work in this specific scenario where batches can be used for production but not for sales.

Perhaps you need to use different MRP Areas for sales and production, and move the batches with less than 50% of shelf life to the production MRP Area.

I tried it. But have doubts. Point 1: We can move the 50% expired batches to production MRP area. But at the beginning the produced material will be places at Production MPR area as I mentioned Production storage location in material right. Then is it needed to move this new material manually to sales MRP area to consider this for sales orders.

Point 2: So now all the new materials will be in sales MRP area. In case we don't have any sale order. Suddenly we got dependent requirement from prd MRP area. Then this new material stock available in sales MRP area will not be considered for dependent requirements right. How to mitigate this

Point 3: In sales order I have given the sales MRP area and in PIR for header material, I have given production MRP area. I maintained the production supply area in component to pass the dependent requirement to production MRP area. Now how the production order will consider the stock from Sales MRP area if the stock is not there in production MRP area. How the PIR need to be maintained for production at header level. How the MRP to be run. At Plant level or Production / sales MRP area level?

Hello, you can define a stock transfer special procurement type at MRP Area level, so that MRP creates stock transfer reservations to move the stock from the plant to the MRP Area in case of shortages. The process of moving batches close to the expiration to production would be manual.
