Hello Experts,
I'm seeking information on SAP wage types. Can you guide me on where to find a table, view, report, or configuration that shows how these wage types are mapped to categories such as Total Deductions, Gross Pay, and Basic Pay?
I'm a consultant, not an SAP user, and I'm looking to understand how employee pay elements (wage types) are classified and how salaries are calculated in SAP.
Thank you for your help.

How salaries are calculated in SAP depends on the Master Data configuration of the employee (PA), on the configuration of the Payroll Period configuration, on the Country, on the WageType's configuration relating to some Processing Classes, Cumulators, etc...
Try using t-code PC00_M99_DLGA20 to get an overview of the configuration in table T512W (use your Country Code, don't select any WT, and use today's date only), then drill down into the report.Using table views, you could also look at V_512W_D or V_512W_B, or even V_512W_O.
Then you will have to look at the Payroll Schema that is being used. If it is the Country's original, look for Custom Personal Calculation Rules that would have been added to it. If it is a Custom copy of the Country's schema, look for Custom Sub-schema and Personal Calculation Rules that would have been added or substituted (from the original).
Note that SAP-Press used to sell a book on the subject.
