Hi All,
With the basic rule scenario deprecated, I'm unable to find a simple scenario work.
My use case is very simple, in the workPermitInfo HRIS element, I would like to always default (country value, let's say USA) in country field when portlet opened to enter a record. When portlet opened, country should be defaulted (however would be able to change) and then I can add other permit data and save it.
The Trigger onView rules for HRIS elements, which says "You can use this scenario to create rules that default the value for a field" is not working.
I've created a onView rule on Base Object workPermitModel and it just doesn't work when assigned to the business rule. In the past I made this scenario work through Basic scenario and with ruletype"DefaultFields".
Can anybody help me on this please? How to achieve this?
Regards
DRP.

Hi @DRP07 ,
as said, posting the same answer here as in the original thread for completeness.
My EC colleague checked the use case you'd like to fulfill.
From her analysis, OnView is the right scenario for this case and it works when the value already exist for country. It seems to be not working if there is no value for country. This looks like a bug, that needs to be fixed.
Please create a customer support case for the same and post it for EC WorkPermit.
Thanks a lot and BR, Sylvia

Hi Sylvia, thanks for the checking this with your colleague and the reply! I had raised a support case with SAP in the past and the processor closed the case saying that this is not supported by the product and that he checked with product experts. However, I've raised a new case now and hoping this gets some solution now. Happy to send you the case number, if this is something you are interested to track progress/ follow-up too. . Thanks & BR - DRP @S_Strangfeld
