Solid vs. dotted reporting lines in Employee Central - 2 solid lines

Hi all

We currently have dotted lines having the matrix manager as a relationship type. We are looking to have some of these dotted line relations made into a second solid line relationship. The manager already has the solid line - but we would like to visually show the impact of a second solid line, being the functional manager. This second solid line should not take over manager tasks, that is still only for the manager - so you could say that it is mostly a visualization.

Does anyone know if this is possible to customize, as I know this is not a standard in EC.

Anyone has some good ideas or tried this before?

For me to try to help, can you please clarigy the following: when you say 'that it is mostly a visualization', where do you want to see this second solid manager relationship?

Thank you for coming back on this - and a good question.

We are envisioning, that this should be visible in the org chart. So, if I look up a person (a matrix manager) who has an employee in dotted line relationship, the line would not be dotted but solid. Looking up the employee in the org.chart, will only show 1 solid line to the manager, but it will then be noted on the employee card in the org chart, that he/she has another relationship type, which could be called 'Functional Manager' - and this is the person, who would show up with a solid line to that employee, if you searched for the functional manager.

Does that make sense?
