Item completion with substitution - reporting

Dear community,

We have an introductory eLearning item on a topic (1h) and an accompanying webinar (3h).

The eLearning is part of the onboarding, while the accompanying training is only for a certain target group that requires to deep dive into the topic. We have made the decision, that in the off chance, that an employee attends the webinar before having completed the eLearning, that employee will not have to do the introductory eLearning, as they already attended the deep dive. Therefore we set up a substitution (one way only) - the webinar completion substitutes the eLearning.

However now we are running into issues with reporting, as learners will have often 2 eLearning completions (once when done at onboarding, and once after completing the webinar). Also, reports like item completion report will not differentiate between the employee who has completed the eLearning and employee who has the substitution completion.

In this case, is there any way we could differentiate between "real" elearning completion and "substitute" completion? Any reports I could run, that only shows real item completions only?

Thanks for your support.

Hi

Ideally, the LMS would be configured with a separate Completion Status ID specifically for Substitute Credits.

So when a user competed the Webinar, they are assigned the Substitute completion statuses for the eLearning, which should be different than the eLearnings actual Completion Status.

If you do not have such a configuration, then differentiating is trickier. You'd have to go to a users Complete Items tab, and see if there is a View Object Details link. It won't be there for anyone that didn't actually complete the course.
