Issue with Custom Field import in Employee History

Dear community,

I am currently facing challenge while importing employee history to VP from EC, specifically with a custom field mapped to country specific field in Job Information.

The field is correctly mapped as illustrated in the screenshot below. Despite selecting the label, the result is empty field. I have also attempted selecting the field without specifying the label, but the result is picklist code which is not very helpful.

Have you faced similar issue? Do you have any idea how to resolve this? Configuration of the picklist seems to be fine.

One of my colleage reported something similar the other day. 
We believe this is a product limitation and made the Product team aware.

As of now what you can while is map to picklist then use Assignment Level Custom field to read the value from a Lookup table and show the Label.

Or maybe do the trick of changing the picklist for an mdf or a string field with no edit permissions, and place a business rule to default the correct values which we know from previous recent VP projects will work fine.
