New to CIS (Cloud Identity Services). My understanding is that both IAS (Identity Authentication Service) and IPS (Identity Provisioning Service) are available in CIS. Is it possible to use only the IPS portion of CIS or do you have to make use of both IPS and IAS (for authentication) when using CIS?

@VedettevanKleef

Once you have SAP CIS (Cloud identity Services) you will have both IAS and IPS.

To depends on your use case for using IAS and IPS.

IPS is mainly used for syncing users from one environment to another environment with providing approriate access to the application(READ; WRITE) with assigning groups

IAS is mainly used for storing all users with approrirate groups and enabling Single Sign on for different SAP and Non SAP applications for those users. similarly to IAM solutions which is there in market.

Thank you very much for the feedback. I am now also wondering if IAG (Identity Access Governance) is also included in CIS, along with IAG and IPS? Or is this a product that needs to be purchased and licenses separately?

IAG is part of the umbrealla of SAP Cloud Identity Services but its not bundled with IAS and IPS. IAG will be separate license to be purchased. Usually IAG ( Identity Access Governance) will be taken care by customers separately but if there is no solution exist at customer, then customer will go for purchasing the IAG to control the access and compliance for users and applications with roles.
