Change-state in goal plan template and how to use this in the performance form at route map level

How to work with change-state in goal plan template? Suppose, we have integrated goals in a performance form template, and in one step the goal is locked. Now, in the next step, we want the goal to be unlocked and the employee or manager should be able to enter goals in the form. Simultaneously, the goal is visible in the goal plan template as well? Kindly suggest how to do it.

Hi there. I just went through this for our Development Plan. We noticed that last year only Performance Goals had a goal plan state defined in the xml and wanted the same for our Development Goals. If you don't already have the Goals xml updated with the goal plan state info, unfortunately you'll need to work with a partner on that. You'll want to take all of the permissions already set in the xml and apply those to a Goal Planning state. Then you'll need to define all of the permissions for a Goal Locked state where you mostly would leave as read only for the roles that had more access in the Goal Planning state. SAP won't make that many changes in xml. Once your Goal Plan states are setup, it's pretty simple. In Manage Templates, go to a section that includes one of your Goal Plans and click on Show advanced options. You'll now have a link for Configurations defined for Goal Plan State where you can select the Route Map steps and define which state the form should be in during each one.

You can change the goal plan state of the user when a form is routed to the next step. Please refer to this KBA 2072109 - Configuring & Using Goal Plan State in SuccessFactors Goal Management.
