Automated updates in Enable Now

Hi guys

I am currently working with SAP Enable Now and am new to its various components.

I have a question regarding the integration of change logs into manuals. I have over 200 manuals and would like to add details about changes, such as who created each manual and who made the most recent modifications on all the manuals. I’ve noticed that the change log for all manuals is stored in Producer, so I’m hoping there’s a way to transfer that data automatically to each manual.

While I can add the change log to the original template that were used, I would like to avoid manually updating each individual manual that was created with the old version of the template, which doesn’t include the change log.

Is there a way to automate the display of the change log on the front slide of each manual? Any insights or suggestions on how to achieve this would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for any help

Hi Jaja,

When you mention that you have manuals in Enable Now, I assume that you have Book and Book Pages, with links to Simulations.  So, you generate the manuals using the Compound Document functionality in Producer.

If this is the case, one way that you could achieve this is to create a Text Unit for each Book (Manual).  The Text Unit would be placed at the beginning of the other content, assuming that you want the change details to generate into the Manual at the beginning.  The following is an example of how you could deliver your requirement:

In this example, the text on the Text Unit is included in the documentation but is not shown if the corresponding Book Page is played online through Manager.  If the Text Unit text does not appear in your Compound Document when you generate the documentation, just make sure that the following setting in the Compound Document settings is turned on.
