With the First Half (1H) 2021 Release, SAP SuccessFactors is continuing to deliver on our vision for Human Experience Management (HXM). HXM enables companies to move beyond facilitating HR transactions and processes, to focusing on a more human-centered approach. This means listening to your people's needs and providing them with tools and information necessary to be productive, so they can make a real impact on the business.
It’s with this in mind that we’ve enhanced the SAP SuccessFactors Performance and Goals and SAP SuccessFactors Succession and Development solutions. Below are just a handful of highlights coming out in this release. Sam Passman, VP Product Management – Talent, also covers most of these in his Product Area Highlights
video as well.
SAP SuccessFactors Performance and Goals Highlights
In SAP SuccessFactors Performance and Goals, we continue to emphasize the importance of the employee experience, and have reimagined how we cascade goals to improve alignment at all levels to organizational goals. We’ve done this in several ways, including: providing better clarity between cascader and cascadee, optimizing the experience around goal and user selection, and increasing goal editing efficiency.

We’re also excited to share that continuous performance management is integrated with Microsoft Outlook. Now users can give feedback directly from the Microsoft Outlook ribbon. Weaving the functionality directly into the flow of work makes it easier and faster for employees to give feedback to one another, and encourages a culture of feedback.

Also, employees can now add attachments to activities to provide evidence and context of what they’re working on, as well as their achievements. This helps provide clarity and credibility with regard to activities, and allows employees to create a more complete story of their work and accomplishments.

Finally, customers in China will be excited to learn that we’ve integrated our performance forms with WeChat, so users can route forms from the same app they use for messaging, mobile payments, and social media.

SAP SuccessFactors Succession and Development Highlights
With SAP SuccessFactors Succession and Development, we have a number of new enhancements in this release. Calibration is more tightly coupled with people profile, so users can now update talent information in real time during calibration sessions. Updates to talent data can be made within the context of discussions, avoiding manual follow-ups and cumbersome navigation to multiple areas. When setting up rules for the distribution of performance ratings, you can choose from a broader set of options, allowing greater flexibility and control.

Additionally, we’re adding to the richness of nomination history so users with proper permissions have visibility to all changes of a nomination. This allows greater transparency and context: who made the change, why the change was made, and which nominee was involved.

And last, but not least, as we continue to listen to our customers and improve the user experience, we know many of you will be excited to hear about the “Your Mentor Request” feature, which allows mentees to view the status of
all mentor requests, and their respective statuses, in one single view.
