Last week was an incredible week for SAP SuccessFactors. We held another amazing SuccessConnect event, launched our brand-new SAP SuccessFactors Opportunity Marketplace solution (more on this below), and made a number of exciting new innovations to our HXM Suite of solutions, now available in preview. Here are my top six picks for the Second Half 2021 Release Highlights that you won’t want to miss:

#1 SAP SuccessFactors Opportunity Marketplace solution

We are thrilled to announce a new solution in the Second Half 2021 release. SAP SuccessFactors Opportunity Marketplace makes it easy for employees to discover, in one location, recommendations to fuel their ongoing career development and growth – jobs, assignments, mentor programs, and peer connections.  Embedded intelligence ensures everyone can explore opportunities that are meaningful and relevant to them. Unlike other solutions that focus on skills and job matching, SAP SuccessFactors Opportunity Marketplace takes into account the individual’s whole self, such as skills and competencies plus their capabilities, interests, work styles, and learning preferences. As a result, organizations can better inspire, guide, and support their workforce – improving internal mobility, retention, and workforce agility.

The solution is built on a capabilities-based framework and enables customers to move beyond skills and competencies to deliver unique opportunities to people based on who they are and whom they want to be. Leveraging intelligence, the solution empowers people to learn by providing proactive guidance based on experience, interests, and priorities of the organization.


 

#2 Center of capabilities

We’re thrilled to announce the center of capabilities, a new centralized framework that connects individual skills, competencies, strengths, styles, and capabilities to both people and experiences throughout the SAP SuccessFactors talent solutions. With this release we have the capabilities library which stores all possible capabilities and is accessible throughout the suite, enabling customers to associate capabilities to objects and experiences. Customers can import content or upload content as well as integrate with third party systems.

There is support for multiple libraries so customers can have, for example, a skills library, a competency library, or a library for expressive attributes like learning styles or various preferences. Allowing for multiple levels of hierarchy and grouping, the capabilities library makes maintaining and finding skills and competencies intuitive throughout the suite.


 

#3 SAP SuccessFactors Work Zone solution

In this release, we continue our focus on addressing the learning needs of organizations with SAP SuccessFactors Work Zone by delivering “out-of-the-box” content across multiple services to drive a better experience.

And now we’ve made it even easier for employees to check their required learning assignments through the new learning requirement card – allowing employees to easily view the most critical learning assignments.

We are also pleased to address a top customer request: global assignment and concurrent employment support. Now employees who are either on temporary assignment to another job or hold multiple jobs can efficiently utilize SAP SuccessFactors Work Zone to access the information, applications, and workflows they need.


 

#4 New home page enhancements

In this release, we continue to deliver on our HXM vision with the new SAP SuccessFactors home page that now includes more innovative features for users and enhanced capabilities for administrators. Among the new features is a reimagined manager experience, which includes a quick action card for accessing direct reports’ data and taking action as needed, as well as engagement cards that notify managers of their direct reports’ outstanding tasks. This helps managers track their team’s progress and act when necessary. And with the new engagement card for SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Time Management, managers can also approve time management requests such as buying and selling leave. Managers are alerted to urgent workflow items and can approve or deny requests directly from the home page, reducing the time employees have to wait on decisions.

We’ve also united the new Onboarding 2.0 experience with the new home page. Engagement cards guide new hires through onboarding tasks, such as completing their paperwork and compliance requirements, allowing them to feel confident that their onboarding process is on track. New employees can also access resources to help them prepare for their first day to help ensure they’re set up for success from the start. Lastly, we’ve added a number of enhancements based on customer requests. These include the ability to pin the order of custom cards, embed third party applications and videos in custom cards, and hide the banner image. These features provide administrators the flexibility to bring more varied and customized content to the home page.


 

#5 SAP SuccessFactors time and attendance solutions

With this release we are thrilled to announce a digital punch clock which gives employees the ability to clock in and out using their desktop or mobile device. This allows employees to submit up-to-the-minute working time regardless of whether they are working at a desk or remotely.

The new time off manager dashboard provides a clear, configurable overview of absences, allowances, overtime, workflows, and more. It allows managers to keep their finger on the pulse of various time metrics for better decision-making.


 

#6 Milestone awards

As we continue to emphasize the importance of the employee experience, we have made it easier for you to recognize employee loyalty to your organization. We’re thrilled to share that we’ve expanded our rewards and recognition capabilities to support milestone award types. You can now configure and manage long-service award programs to recognize employee work anniversaries and improve employee motivation and retention.
