In the first quarter of 2021, companies have continued accelerating remote learning offerings to support the high upskilling and reskilling needs in these disruptive times. Getting insights into employees’ feelings and challenges has been essential in companies’ efforts to take care of their well-being but also to adapt and improve employees’ productivity, collaboration and learning opportunities.
The latest research from SAP Litmos and Brandon Hall discusses the importance of learning analytics, but points out that for many it’s still a challenge: Learning Measurement in 2021. This is why we have focused recently on supporting customer’s ability to work with SAP SuccessFactors Learning data in our People Analytics Stories solution, as well as data from other SuccessFactors applications.
We’ll get to the details on that in a moment, but first we’ll look at the overall solution. Introduced within the 1H2020 release, SAP SuccessFactors Stories in People Analytics (formerly known as 'Embedded Edition') is available to all customers, supplementary to existing SAP SuccessFactors Reporting functionality.
Powered by an SAP Analytics Cloud front end, SuccessFactors Stories in People Analytics is the go-to solution for all SuccessFactors Reporting. It is the unified interface for all operational reporting, which is supposed to replace all legacy SuccessFactors operational reporting tools.
How can you drive Learning Insights with People Analytics Stories?
With the 1H2021 release, SAP SuccessFactors Learning data is now part of SuccessFactors Stories in People Analytics available to customers starting in late June/July*. When using People Stories, customers can use interactive, graphical tiles and dashboards for a bird’s-eye view with the ability to drill down to specific detail and benefit from one unified reporting tool.
Let’s deep dive into some of the features offered with SAP SuccessFactors Learning data in SuccessFactors Stories in People Analytics. You can now:
Create stories that can be shared with others to enable them to use the report created
Access live reportable data across the learning application
Use interactive, graphical tiles and dashboards for a bird’s-eye view with the ability to drill to detail
Get Learning and Talent data output side by side on the same canvass (data blending coming in a later release).
Extending the capabilities of Stories in People Analytics to Learning improves the experience of creating Learning reports by making the process intuitive, easy, and technically simple with the following benefits:
Intuitive, guided experience to create and share various report outputs and formats easily
Modern beautiful visualizations within presentation- style reports that use charts, texts images, and pictograms to describe data
One unified reporting tool

Learning in the New Normal and the question how to best leverage learning capabilities that are remote and in the flow of work is business critical in these days. The virtual learning service now supports Zoom as a virtual meeting room vendor for both Zoom Meeting and Zoom Webinar. Please be aware when using Zoom as a virtual meeting room vendor:
Scheduled programs aren’t currently supported.
Instructors must be valid licensed users on the Zoom virtual learning server.
SAP Work Zone for HR, released in 2020, provides HR-focused templatized content and easy access to areas within SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite. In SAP Work Zone for HR, teams and departments can effectively communicate and engage with employees via customizable and guided experiences that integrate with different products. Employees can also create communities where they can share knowledge and experiences with multimedia and microlearning capabilities, helping to enrich critical programs such as onboarding and training and development. Apart from the capabilities provided by the SAP Work Zone solution, SAP Work Zone for HR offers UI integration cards, guided experiences like workflow-based widgets and configurable workspace templates. We built these card templates so you can easily access SAP SuccessFactors information you need by configuring pre-defined cards. You don’t have to switch between applications to get the information.
SAP Work Zone for HR as a development platform enables customers to create their own learning space. We continue to add Learning widgets to Work Zone for HR, such as the employee’s view of their Learning Plan and Learning History, in the context of all the different tools and solutions available on Work Zone for HR, such as SAP SuccessFactors Career Development and SAP Litmos.
The new UI cards in this release are:
Development Goals: View and update your development goals.
Learning Approval: Manage learning requests pending your approval.
Curricula Status: View the overall status of learning curricula assigned to you.
We also enhanced the workspace template, Learning Zone, and added a new template, Return to Workplace (Employees).
And finally, we want to mention a feature which has been highly requested by our customers: SAP SuccessFactors Learning Administration UI now offers Right-to-Left (RTL) support. Enabling RTL language support in SAP SuccessFactors Learning allows the application to be adopted by a wider range of customers.
