Need help for Reporting

Dear all,

This my team's first time working with BPC 10, we are trying to make some reports where users need to calculate the unit amount of different concepts (All P&L concepts/Sales Volume). Below the report image that user provided as requirement:

We would like to keep the calculation of unit amount with worksheet logic due we don't need to save the data as result of calculation. But it looks like it's not working as we expect: If we choose another hierarchy of Account dimension, everything is refreshed and text =#REF! is displayed in cells. As we can see in image below:

Do you have any suggestion for setting this calculation succesfully?

Thanks a lot for you help & Regards

Hi,

Create a Local member for Unit Calculation.

Have a look @ http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/CPM/EPM+Add-in+Academy for videos on how to create local members.

Hope it helps...

Hi,

Thanks for reply! We could calculate % gross margin and & % operating margin succesfully with this help, but we can't make Unit Amount column work automatically using Local Member feature.

We have tested some basic operations between columns such as + / * - (E1+D1) they work ok, but the division operation between two member accounts in the same column doesn't make the automatic population in the entire column.

In the image below you can see the formula entered and confirm Option "Activate Local Member Recognition" is selected.

Thanks again for your help!

Best Regards

Hi Garfias,

If you want to apply the same formula for all the cells in the column, you can use EPMCopyRange function.

Hope this helps.

Cheers !

Hi Venkata,

We tried to use the EPMCopyRange function but with no success. When we create the function in column D, the operation is applied in column C so it overrides my data. Do you have some  example about how use this function?

Thanks a lot for your help!!

Best Regards,

Zaire Garfias

Hi Garfias,

Are you using local members for calculating the units?

Hi Garfias,

If your columns are going to remain constant ( i.e if there won't be any additions or deletions), you could try using the EPMCopyRange formula.

Other option is as suggested by VaraPrasadRaju , to create a Local Member for this calculation.

Hello Rajesh,

We are trying both options, Could you please provide some example about how to use EPMCopyRange formula? Actually, when we use it, function overrides our data.

Thanks a lot & Best Regards

Hi Garfias,

If you want to keep the worksheet formulas after the refresh go to Options ----> Sheet Options ----> Refresh Tab -----> Check 'Keep formula on Data' option

Thanks,
