Hello,
In SAP Business ByDesign I am trying to load a bank statement of N43 with a very high number of movements (lines), but I cannot.
However, I have reduced the number of movements (lines) for that same file by playing with the dates (<50) and I have been able to load it without problems.
Do you know if there is a maximum number of movements (lines) that SAP allows to load? For example no more than 50 movements.
And if it exists, is there any parameterization where it can be increased/decreased? (I've searched, but haven't found anything about it.)
Thanks in advance.
All the best,
Ismael.
Hello Ismael,
A number of 50 line-items should not present a volume problem for bank statement uploads and allocation/clearing-run.
It is difficult to provide a hard threshold for bank statement uploads since the processing-logic will depend on very specific circumstances.
E.g. Single batch-transactions representing hundreds of open payments or invoices in the system naturally will require more capacity than items with a 1:1 relationship.
More complex clearing and allocation scenarios can apply for single line-items when Rules for Analyzing Memo Lines are set up.
Applied to 100s of line-items this will make a huge difference making strict comparisons and recommendations difficult.
An indication for lower boundary are warnings you encounter for example in high-volume clearing scenarios.
E.g. Payables Payment
Warning: Clearing with more than 400 items not advised. This may cause a timeout when clearing and all work could be lost. To ensure work is not lost, please save before attempting to clear.
On the other hand we see statements containing way more than 1000 items being comfortably uploaded and processed.
In the end, choosing a workable bank statement size is subject to prior testing.
If applicable there are options as increasing the frequency of statement uploads or making sure that open candidate items in the system are regularly cleared.
Hope this helps,
Frank
