Maintain Dimension error when processing in BPC 7.0M

Former Member

I have a new installation (single server) of BPC 7.0M using SQL Server 2008.

When I process dimension I get the following errors:

when member sheet open - at the Start Creating Dimension - "There's no data in the mbr table to validate and process."

when member sheet closed - at the Making Dimension - "ActiveX component can't create objectObject variable or With block variable not set"

Can anyone help?

Many thanks

The 205 backward compatibility cured the problem.

Comment: All prerequisites in the installation guide are required.

Tony D is absolutely correct.

Please see SAP Note 1296560:

Symptom

When processing dimensions on a SQL2008 7M SP3 system, I receive the

following error message:

"There's no data in the mbr table to validate and process."

Other terms

process dimension, sql 2008, admin, administration, dimension

Reason and Prerequisites

This is happening because the following pre-requisite software is not

installed as per Master Install Guide:

Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Backward Compatibility Components

Solution

Install Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Backward Compatibility Components

which can be downloaded at:

Hi,

You have to select the options process from Member sheet. I suppose you are processing first time the dimension and you don't have information into mbrtable.

I was processing changes on an existing dimension.

I would guess that you are either missing a file like xceedzip.dll or that your reporting services install is not perfectly correct. You may want to search the SAP Notes for the issues that you have mentioned for possible resolution steps.

I do have Xceedzip.dll. I have installed a default SSRS so wonder what the settings need to be?

Did you install the SQL 2005 backward compatibilty pack (it is a prereq).

I have seen this error happen if you have not installed the 2005 backward compatibility pack.

Go here and scroll down to find the compatibility pack:

[SQL 2008 Feature Pack|http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=228DE03F-3B5A-428A-923F-58A033D316E1&displaylang=en]

Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Backward Compatibility Components

The SQL Server Backward Compatibility package includes the latest versions of the Data Transformation Services 2000 runtime (DTS), SQL Distributed Management Objects (SQL-DMO), Decision Support Objects (DSO), and SQL Virtual Device Interface (SQLVDI). These versions have been updated for compatibility with both SQL Server 2005 and SQL Server 2008 and include all fixes shipped through SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 4 (SP4) and SQL Server 2005 SP2.

Here's a question for all of you ... how do you fix this if you're on SQL Server 2005?

This only happened to me when we upgraded and now it's really starting to s#!t me!!!
