How sap bpc work with sap bw

Hello expert,

I am preparing to install sap bpc 10 for netwaver BW.

I have read the master guide and install guide.

But,there is still a big concern:

How sap BPC collaborate with SAP BW?

Shall I made some connection like RFC/SM59 etc between BPC and BW?

I am preparing to install sap bpc on the same machine with sap bw.

Hi Liu,

While installing BPC, itself name space will be created in BI/BW. . All BPC dimensions, members you can see in RSA1 bw side with name space /CPMB/.....

whatever you create at BPC side, those will automatically installed in BI.

regarding RFC And others you better to ask basis forum or in BPC forum, Think so

But my key question is what is the step or action let  BPC system I am preparing to setup know my existing BW system and to work together?

hi Liu,

If bw (is source for ur bpc)already existed then only possible to install BPC NW 10. Bcause, BW one of the is source for BPC as integrated by sap itself.

see if you want use BPC, you need sources as BW or BO, its depend on the source data(BW/BO) where its lied for purpose of planing, compensation and Finance data(these data need to to bring from source to BPC side).

Hi,

The BPC installation can be done in a particular BI system. For this installation, you just need to import a BPC package into the BI system. From the BI system, the package is imported, the BPC system will be attached to that BI system, automatically.

Hi Nilanjan,

Any operation I do from BPC side like lite optimize or change in data is not being reflected on BW/HANA side. I checked SM37, SLG1 etc and see no activity at all on back end. Though on EPM side all activities can be seen in the package view status. Can you please help to diagnose this. Thank you!
