Dear all,

I'm trying to validate a transformation file using a plaintext but the result of validation is not ok. I get the following message: " Failed parse information file: unexpected symbol: '>'

I have checked the entire transformation file looking for the symbol and does not exist. Which is the error of the file?

Hi,

Check the symbol u201C>u201D in the conversion file also.

If you used in conversion file. What is the syntax and why you used that let me know.

Thanks,

Hi Devi,

I have already checked the conversion file and everything is alright. Here you have an example of the file:

EXTERNAL INTERNAL FORMULA

1 JAN

2 FEB

3 MAR

4 APR

5 MAY

6 JUN

7 JUL

8 AUG

9 SEP

10 OCT

11 NOV

12 DEC

I get the same error even using a different source file (plaintext).

Thanks,

Ru

Hi,

The transformation file looks ok. If the conversion file is getting validated, then there is no problem, there. I believe there might be some problem in the flat file.

As per your transformation, the flat file should have a header and the delimiter should be TAB. You can try to keep only one record and check whether you are able to validate the transformation.

It would be better, if you can share the flat file. What is the extension with which you have saved your file?

At the end, I've changed my transformation file using different mapping of dimension. Incredibly, now it works and I didn't find any symbol like '>' in the file. Anyway, the problem has been solved.

thanks so much,
