Hi All,

We are working in S4 HANA in the Utilities domain.

Can you please clarify difference between Provider Contract and Subscription Contract?

Does Provider Contracts are created from SAP CRM whereas Subscription Contracts are created from Subscription Order Management in S4CRM,but they refer to same thing

Regards

Nikhil

Hi Nikhil,

I'm modifying my own answer because I had misinterpreted your question : from CC's point of view, subscription orders and subscription contracts are the same, they are all represented by provider contracts.
S/4HANA and SOM indeed use these two different terms, but there is no actual difference.

If it helps, here is also an explanation about subscriptions and contracts, in CC only.

"Subscriptions" were in use years ago, in very old versions of Convergent Charging. They're still available for customers who are still holding on to their old data, but the new CC model now relies on "provider contracts" only.
This is mentioned in Core tool's documentation:
https://help.sap.com/viewer/c7120011d1c244168dc1f945a06f1350/5.0.4/en-US/c314155f97f9479eadd9ee20d3b...

To sum up: whether you use CRM or S/4, you will always get provider contracts everywhere, in CC.
Feel free to to ask for more details if needed.

Best regards.

Hello Francois_thimon, We are working on a project that currently operates on a subscription-based model using CRM and other legacy systems. The business now wants to migrate to a provider contract-based model. Is this migration possible? If so, from CC point of view could you please provide insights or documentation on how we can achieve this transition? Any information or recommendations on the steps and challenges involved would be greatly appreciated."
