BPF Instance could not open Report

Former Member

Hi All,

I have created some reports in "ADMIN" folder in BPC. After that I created a BPF and BPF instance to call the report. I put the path "..\..\Team Files\ADMIN\eEXCEL" before the report name after selecting the report in Step Action area.

But when I am performing the BPF step thorugh web interface, it gives me error - could not open "HTTP://BASISFT8.IN.IBM.COM/TeamA/SALES_PLANNING/Team Files/ADMIN/eEXCEL/REPORTS/XXXXX/xlt".

Do I have to compulsory store the reports in "LOCAL" folder for BPF to call it ? As when I keep the report in "LOCAL" folder, BPF displays the report successfully.

Request your inputs.

Regards

Sagar Karale

Hi Sagar,

If you store the templates in the ADMIN folder, then only the users who belong to the ADMIN team will be able to access the template. If you want all the users to access the template, you should store it in the COMPANY folder.

When you save the template, you will be able to see COMPANY, LOCAL, and folders corresponding to each of the team. COMPANY is accessible to all the users. LOCAL corresponds to your local system.

Hope this helps.

Hi All,

My user ID is memeber of ADMIN team and ADMIN team is assigned in Access to BPF.

I have created reports and saved in ADMIN folder in BPC

Under Step Action, I am able to browse and select my report. Once selected it updates the parameter value.

When executed the instance, it shows error message "could not open "(report path and name)"

The path on the error message is correct path, still it says could not open. Somehow it only opens reports in COMPANY folder. For reports from ADMIN folder I used ..\..\ to arrive at correct path, it didn work. I just selected report from browse window, it also didn work. Got the same error both times.

Hi,

Can you kindly confirm that you have created new instance after every time you made some changes in the template.

Hi,

During Step actions under Action Details select as follows :

Interface : Interface for Excel

Task : OPEN TEMPLATE

Click Browse... to select the requried report from any team.Once you select the report system will automatically filled up Parameter Value based on your selection. Do not change any thing under Parameter Value.

Hope it works....

Hi

It is not working. Now in the error message it shows path to folder "company", and my reports are in "admin" folder. It still gives the same error message.

Hi,

In STEP 1- C.Set Access Select ADMIN from Available and put it into right side (Selected). Once you add ADMIN as selelcted you can see ADMIN folder while browsing in Action details.

Hope it helps...

Raju

Hi Raju,

Thanks for the reply, but I already had added "ADMIN" in access. And I could browse and select the report in Step Action area. But when I process the step in PBF it says "could not open 'XXX/XXX/XXX/XXX(file path)". The file path shown in the error is correct path, still it shows error.

Also I can open the report from Excel, so security shouldn't be problem.

Hi,

It shouldn't be.....can you give a try by logoff from BPC Admin cleint and login again. Save BPF template and create a new instance assign ADMIN as owner.

Thanks,

Raju
