Hi All,

I am trying to start action "manage application sets" on administration client for BPC 7.0 Patch 7 but the client stay invisible.

the last thing that I can see is the client starts to download some files (step 1).

After this it gets invisible, all that I can find is the activ process OSoftAdminMain.exe.

I get no error, nothing.

Last thing that I tested is to execute BPC Client Diagnostic for Administration client features. There I got some errors:

[Files]

BPC Administration Folder:C:\Programme\BPC\

File: C:\Programme\BPC\Ev4AdminClient.dll

Status:File not found

Reinstall BPC Administration client.

File: C:\Programme\BPC\Ev4Logon.dll

Reinstall BPC for Office client.

File: C:\Programme\BPC\Ev4Share.dll

File: C:\Programme\BPC\Ev4Admin.xla

Status:File not found

Reinstall BPC Administration client.

File: C:\Programme\BPC\Ev4UpdateAdm.exe

File Version:7.0.0.107

Status:OK

File: C:\Programme\BPC\UnZip32.DLL

Status:File not found

Reinstall BPC Administration client.

File: C:\Programme\BPC\Ev4ResCltAdm.dll

Status:File not found

The missed files I also cannot find on the application server.

That could be a problem?

Before installing of Patch 7 I could start all action on admin client.

Please help me on this.

Thank you,

Vadim

It seems you didn't upgrade the BPC admin client after the installatioon of patch of BPC server.

Or if you did the reinstall may be you didn't use the the client installation from web.

After unistall of actual version of BPC client I suggest to delete the folder BPC from C:\Program Files and after that to try to install again BPC admin client.

Hi,

no, unfortunately it does not work.

I reinstalled the BPC client, but it is the same.

The only exception: the client diagnostic tool shows no errors any more::

Did you try to connect to apshell instead to connect with your appset using Management Console?

Do you have the same error also in that case?

If yes then it seems for some reason probably the installation of SP was not correct done.

I suggest to check the Event Viewer from Application server and also to check BPC errors from Management Console.,

If you cannot use management console then you have to check tbllogs from appserver databae.

Sorin:

I have the exact same problem in my Dev Box. After running a diagnosis, the log said two errors:

1) MS SQL Server Agent service (Currently Stopped)

2) IIS Configuration \ OSoft Virtual Directory\ Basic Authentication (Current value: False)

The only thing that happened since I was able to launch Administration Console was that we had a power outage for the server room so all the servers including my BPC Dev Box rebooted.

I tried to manually start SQL Server Agent but it prompted "started and stopped" because the service is not being used, etc.

Any clue of why this happened?

It seems that the Administration client was not correctly installed / updated.

Uninstall it and try to reinstall from the BPC Portal / Client installation

it does not work. I have tried it already. I also tried to start admin client from an other pc. It is all the same. I have no idea where I can find some log files on the BPC server. The Server Manager Diagnostic tool shows nor errors, it seems to be alright. BPC server version is 7.0.116.02 and the version of OSoftAdminMain.exe is 7.0.112.0. Is that correct? Thanks
