Are you really asking the embedded version with consolidation for 10 version???? Because I guess this functionality was only available from 10.1 embedded onwards...
It would depend basically on the business requirement and how efficiently it is handled by Classic or Embedded. You can take a look at these documents suggesting the difference between the 2 and then decide..
In addition to the links JP provided, generally speaking most customers coming from BW-IP (PAK) tend to stay with BPC embedded. As of now even though BPC embedded provides all the functionality for consolidation, the initial steps of creating required attributes and dimensions and the InfoCubes are manual processes. However, once that part is done everything should work seamlessly.
By the way you can also install both version of BPC, embedded and standard. Starting with BW 7.5 you will not even have to install BPC standard it installs automatically. All you have to do is to activate ENVIRONMENTSHELL to activate BPC standard.
