BOM explosion in Subscription Order Management / Solution Quotation

We are using a solution with both services and physical goods, physical goods that have a AVC model built up with BOM. During the configuration of the solution we would like to explode the BOM inside the solution quotation, but it's not exploding.

We are using product bundles also, and those explode just fine, but the BOMs from AVC aren't getting triggered. We have tried to configure a BOM with "Customer Management" usage and no plant, but it isn't working.

Is it possible at all to explode a AVC BOM inside a Solution Quotation?

Dear Sousa, Interesting question and a nice fit. We are currently working on the integration of the AVC into the Solution Quote in order to leverage it for the "explosion" of sales / service relevant items of a BOM. Exactly what you describe in your question. That allows you to use the same model to propagate characteristic values from the bundle level to the components. Thanks, the propagation of the characteristics to the sub items is precisely the issue we have with using the more limited bundles. It works, but in terms of UI the user needs to go into every level individually to configure each subitem and that's after the explosion happens which makes it very difficult to use via oData API.

Fortunately our scenarios either use the exploded structure via API or use the SAP UI.
