The prestigious Global Equity Organization (GEO) awards innovation, excellence, achievement, and extraordinary individuals and organizations who have engaged, retained, and recruited employees through their exemplary compensation strategies. In 2016, SAP has cordially been given the GEO award of “Most Innovative and Creative Plan Design” for its recently launched employee share purchase plan, “Own SAP”.

SAP recognizes that its workforce is key to its success and that good work should be rewarded. That is why the company wants to make it easy for employees to share in the company’s growth. One way of doing this is offering attractive conditions for purchasing SAP shares.

Own SAP is available to all employees in almost all countries in which SAP operates, offering a generous company benefit and low investment risk. Employees can invest and purchase with an employer matching contribution of 40% plus a €20 subsidy (latter only applicable for non-executives) on a monthly basis.  Participation is highly flexible and can be tailored to each individual’s own needs. The enrollment in Own SAP is facilitated by a Fiori application.

The plan demonstrates SAP’s commitment to its global workforce and has now proved a high participation rate. In fact, more than 70% of employees became shareholders by participating in Own SAP (totaling more than 51,000 employees). This success is the result of a very attractive plan design. It also shows that our employees really believe in SAP and its growth and, therefore, want to become shareholders.
