Hello Everyone,

I have below scenario and need to come up with the ideal work center set up option.

We have 3 Testing machines. Each can perform testing in a subset of finished goods (case given in below example). What would be the best way to set up the work center/s for proper capacity allocation and visibility? thank you.

Example

Test Machines - TM1, TM2 and TM3

Finished Goods - FG1, FG2, FG3, FG4, FG5, FG6, FG7, FG8, FG9 and FG10

TM1 can perform testing on FG1, FG3, FG5, FG7 and FG9. TM2 can perform testing on FG2, FG4, FG6 and  FG8. TM3 can perform testing on FG2, FG3, FG5, FG6, FG9 and FG10.

Hi,

  • Create individual work centers for each testing machine (TM1, TM2, TM3).
  • Create 3 routing groups add operations for each machine that can test to its respective work center  and assign relevant finished goods to it like:
    • Group 1 Operation on Work Center 1 (TM1): FG1, FG3, FG5, FG7, FG9
    • Group 2 Operation on Work Center 2 (TM2): FG2, FG4, FG6, FG8
    • Group 3 Opeartion on Work Center 3 (TM3): FG2, FG3, FG5, FG6, FG9, FG10
  • Finally, create Production versions
