The MD04 exception message 07, "finish date in the past", typically means the system has identified an operation or order's finish date as past due. This could be due to incorrect scheduling parameters, production delays, or wrong master data.
Check below:
- Verify the scheduling parameters in transaction OPJH for the order type. Ensure the scheduling type is "Backward" for scheduling from the requirement date backwards.
- If production is delayed, reschedule the order to update production dates.
- Confirm the accuracy of the materials and work centers' master data, including routing, bill of materials, and work center capacities.
- Manually reschedule the order in transaction CO02 to recalculate dates based on current date and scheduling parameters.
- After corrections, rerun MRP to see if the issue is resolved.
