When come to an end, the unknown task occurred during the SAP B1 version upgrade..

Hi everyone,

I've been upgrading the sap b1 on mssql version again, from 8.81 to 10.0, since 5:00 AM yesterday.

When come to an end, there is unknown task working. I don't know what this task doing but I see that it replicated the primary data file of the database with difference extension, The file name format is [database name].mdf_MSSQL_DBCC12.

this is very very annoying and not professional. It will take so much time. It is been 29 hours and the upgrade has not finished yet.

What is this task doing now ? does sap ever know this ? The customer is really wasting time and the lead will not choose sap b1 instead they will buy another erp product.

when I open the sap b1 choose company window, the company database is upgraded

can the user use sap b1 now ? have anyone experienced this unknown task ? how long was it took place ?

how can sap do this to their customer ?

during upgrade, the database can be backed up and the user can login. this is very insane erp software and hilarious..

It looks like unknown task is related to Pick and pack manager.

You didn't follow the upgrade note when upgrade from 8.81 to 10 directly. Best of luck, guy!

thank you for your info. I follow all the upgrade notes but  I did not find if there is a specific note about the unknown task. no title there like previous one for example upgrade sales order, etc.. An about the file, since SQL 2014, sql create the file (reference : https://dba.stackexchange.com/questions/252329/what-is-mdf-mssql-dbcc15-file) but that's an sql part and sap should avoid it except sap display an info in the upgrade wizard window. The unknown task will be certainly questioned by customer. They will ask for what it is and will not agree.
