Greeting Everybody,
I want to know what is the difference between product line and division in SAP ERP ?
I tried to find the definition of product line but, I couldn't find an answer.
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Majed,
I dont think there is a concept called product line in SAP.
In SAP, you can consider the Division as representing a product line in business. ( then, this will always depend on how the business wants the Org structure mapped into SAP).
For example in an FMCG, if Bathing soaps represents a product line and Shampoo another product line, in SAP it could be mapped as 2 different divisions. But, if business wants they can have both together in one division (called bathing products as an ex:).
And even the Soap product line can be break down into 2 or more divisions in SAP ( ex: premium soap, economy soap etc..or on Brand names too).
And there is 'Sales Line' in SAP, its the combination of Sales Org + Distribution Channel
