Warranty template

Hi All,

My client sells electronic goods of various types.

These products have 12 months warranty attached to them.

In some cases warranty period changes to 15 or 18 months also for the same product.

Now we can attach one warranty at item master level.

I would like to know how we can change the warranty at the point of sale without resetting the original warranty attached at item level?

Ajit,

The general Warranty at the Item level gets copied to the Service Contract but I think you can go to the Service contact for a particular Items Serial number and change the Contract Start and End Dates.

I am not certain if this is what you are looking but from what I understand from your message I think this would work.

Let me know

Hi Suda,

Is there a way to chage the warranty at the the time of either sales order or delivery or A/R invoice ?

Ajit,

OCTR and CTR1 tables stores the Contract and Warranty data and are the ones where the dates have to be changed so it has to be done by going to Service Contract Module. There is no other quick option from Delivery or Invoice screens.

Hello,

Do you use addon point of sales or what you mean is sales order ?

If it is only for document record/note, you could use a user table and use UDF and link the table to the UDF. If you use user table, it means you could create UDF in the user table contains columns similar with SBO std warranty template setup.
