Volume and Weight Calculation

Hello all

could you please tell me from where the Volume and Weight Calculation retrieves the data?

for example, while i am in an order, by clicking the button for the calculation and by using the System information(active) i can see that retrieves data from INV1.

is it right?

Hi,

If you are in a sales order, the calculation is in RDR1. The values are from Item master.

Hi Gordon,

lets share an example.

i am in Purchase Order and some of the items do not have in item master data values for weight or volume or both.

after a couple of days and while the PO is still open, the BP let us know the values are missing for the item. so, by clicking the Volume and Weight Calculation, these values are not updated on the PO. do you know the reason it happens?should it be updated automatically?

last but not least, by clicking on the Volume and Weight Calculation icon and using the System Information, at the bottom of the screen by leaving the mouse above Volum, it says INV1.Volume

why this happens?

Once the item data copied to the marketing document, they will not be automatically updated to the new changes. This is common for all systems. It is not created by SAP only.

For INV1 you saw, that is only because all marketing documents share the same data structure. All forms are derived for AR Invoice form. You need to use the exact table to find the right information.
