Hello SAP Gurus:

Could someone please explain why we maintain the GL accounts in 5 tables as shown in the first screen of VKOA.

Also when we go to the next screen why do we have two columns for GL Account.

Is there an explanation of this configuration somewhere?

Thank you.

Sri

Hi Srikanth

The tables C001 to C005 maintained through transaction VKOA is mainly to determine the revenue accounts based on the combination given for each table like mat acct group, customer acct group acct key combination etc.

With regard to your question on why there are two GL columns is that accrual keys will be assinged to two GL accounts (rebate are good example).

Thanks

Ashok

Hi Srikanth,

The first column is used to determine the revenue account..i.e how much revenue has been earned from the invoices...

The second column is used to determine accounts which are used for accruals in case of rebate processing or deferred revenue account in case of revenue recognition.
