Variant Configuration Problem

Can you help me? I have question about variant configuration material:

1. When create SO, is characteristics value assignment field maintained ?

2. Is FERT material have a routing? (when convert Plan Order to Production Order appears error message "no valid task list for material 1686 plant 1001 for sel.criteria")

3. Is formula object dependency have a problem?

I was create BOM, Routing, Material Master (class type 300), Characteristics, Class, Class with class type 200 for Colour, Configuration profile and also object dependency....

All process created within Configurable Material (KMAT) level.--> (1684 material, exp.)

And I create FERT material (1686 material, exp.).. on basic data2 view...in"cross-plant PM field" I field KMAT material (1684 material).

Next I create Sales Order with FERT Material (1686 material, exp.). After checked stock/requirements list (order appears), running MRP material FERT (1686)....

But only 1686 appears...and when convert Plan Order to Production Order appears error message "no valid task list for material 1686 plant 1001 for sel.criteria".........

Hi,

Pls. find the answers for your queries :

1. You need to configure variant (i.e. maintain values for characteristics) while creating SO.

2. You should check for availability of Routing for the Routing selection id maintained in OPPQ.

I think you need to create routing with usage 1 ( Production ) or 3 ( Universal) as per routing selection id you have defined in Plant parameters in OPPq.

3. As you are gettting error message " NO valid task List found" so you need to maintain/ create routing as I told you above with the appropriate usage.

Which material that i need to to maintain/ create routing?? Is it KMAT or FERT....Sorry Tejas i dont understand .....Cause i already maintain for KMAT......

Hi Dwi,

You need to create Routing for KMAT material which is your main configurable material.FERT you have created as a material variant of KMAT.

Further you need to create SO for KMAT material and not for FERT material.

Depending on your settings in Configuration Profile , Partial or Complete Configuration Selection , you will get pop up of Material Variant when you configure variant for your configurable material in VA01 while creating SO.

Pls. do as above i suggested .

You need to maintain Routing necessarily for KMAT and not for FERT bcos depending upon Variant you configure in SO for KMAT you can replace it with material variant FERT.

Hope it resolves your confusion.

Hi Dwi,

After we create Super BOM and Super Routing for the KMAT, we assign all the MVs (material variants, in your case the FERT material) to the BOM and Routing. Then in the SO, the specific operations related to the FERT will be picked up.
