Using the Schedule jobs for consolidation tasks to auto-trigger all tasks

Hello,

We are using S/4 HANA Cloud.

We intend to use the App Schedule jobs for Consolidation Tasks to run all the Data monitor relevant tasks and have few queries.

Is there a way to bundle all the tasks using 1 template so they are auto triggered as soon as the previous task is completed.
Alternatively, is there any other job which can help to bundle up all the tasks pertaining to Data Monitor without having to manually schedule each?

Will the job Validation of Universal Journals Job be helpful to bundle the tasks? However we see that despite there being multiple tasks in different radio buttons, it allows selection of only 1 task at a time. Need inputs on working of this job.

We also need an input on the relevance of the Mandatory field 'List' in the Currency Translation template of the above mentioned App. The two options available in these are 'Multilevel list' and 'Display the most important control tables and sets'.

Appreciate the responses to above queries. Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Pooja Ramnath

Dear bdurai05.

How are you? I have excluded the Tag "SAP S/4HANA Cloud" and included the Tag "SAP S/4HANA Cloud for Finance" for this question, as Universal Journal is a Topic exclusive for Finance Line of Business.

Regards.

Hi Pooja Ramnath,

1. App Schedule jobs for Consolidation Tasks is available for single task and you cannot bundle up all the tasks together.

If you want to finish a series of tasks one by one, you need to set these tasks manually following time sequence. You can check help portal: Schedule Jobs for Consolidation Tasks

You suggestion is really meaningful and if possible could you raise a request in SAP Customer Influence? SAP Customer Influence enables customers to submit improvement requests and to openly vote on them. These voting results inform SAP of product enhancements and changes customers are most interested in seeing in future releases.

2. The list type in the Currency Translation task determines the execution type:

List type 1 (Multilevel List): The task will perform the typical currency translation and show prepare the log

List type 9 (Display the most important control tables and sets): The task will only show the currency translation relevant configurations for a selected consolidation unit.

Therefore, there is no need to schedule a job for list type 9. In order to perform the currency translation, please choose list type 1.

Best Regards,

Jerry

Sincere thanks, Jerry, for the detailed responses to the queries. This is really helpful. Could you please also provide an insight on the significance of the available radio buttons in Job 'Validation of Universal Journals'? (Universal Documents/Reported fin. data/standardized data/Consolidated financial data)

Does the option 'Read rollup records' enable all the above mentioned options in a single run?

Thanks,

Pooja Ramnath

Dear Pooja Ramnath,

There are seperate validation tasks for Universal Documents, Reported Financial Data, Standardized Data and also for Consolidated Financial Data.

This means that you have to schedule these runs separately.

Tamas

Hello Tamas,

Thank you for the quick response. So as I understand, within the Job 'Validation of Universal Journals' itself, I would require to schedule 4 different jobs, each for the various radio buttons within it.

Also, could you kindly help in understanding what would the system behaviour be on scheduling each of these radio buttons? Appreciate your inputs.

Regards,

Pooja Ramnath

Hi Pooja Ramnath,

Do you expect that all various validations mentioned on your screen will run one after another if you enable 'Read rollup records'? Definitely not. See Help:

By setting this indicator, you specify that database records are read, which were created during rollup to consolidation groups. These rolled records are stored in special posting levels in the totals database. In next release version, these configurations would be delete and you did not need to worry about that. Please check my attachment picture.BR,Jerry

Can there be some insight provided on the working of different radio buttons in Validation of Universal Journals Job?

We also have individual tasks created for the options seen in the radio buttons of Job Validation of Universal Job. (eg. Validation of Standarized data, Validation of Reported Data). Then this seems redundant to repeat scheduling of these through Validation of Universal Journals Job separately.

Pooja Ramnath

Yes, these are redundant task for now. These buttons are related with program ficval00. As far as I know, currently, ficval00 is used only for validation of Universal Journal. Originally, ficval00 was used for validation of Reported fin. Data, Standardized data, Consolidated fin. Data as well, but this is not true anymore.

These validations are now processed via Validation Engine (FIN-CS-VE). You can also see separate tasks for these validations in Schedule Jobs for Consolidation tasks.
