use of vd01

Hi guys plz help me in this.

Generally in which scenario we will use <b>vd01</b> to create customer master record? what i know is if we don't want to maintain the customer centrally, then we will use vd01. But what i need is why this situation will occurs?

Hi Venkat,

Using XD01 we can create a Customer for a particular Company Code whereas with VD01 we cannnot do the same.

With XD01 the General Data created shall be applicable for all the Sales Areas under that Company Codes and the same is used when we extend the Customer to various Sales Areas.

Also with XD01 you would be able to add the details regarding Payment Transaction whcih cannot be done through VD01.

In a nutshell XD01 is used for Cross-Company Code Customer Master Creation whereas VD01 is not.
