Hi,
please tell me how to create alternate BOM ,a nd where to maintain usage probability. let say example A is the finished product and it has child items C, D.
Now i want to make child E as as alternative to C. How to maintain in BOM.
I want to give usage probability of child item E as 60 % and C as 40 %.
so please tell me how to maintain the data in BOM
Hi
For alternative BOM creation u go to CS01 trx and enter the material code and plant then system will tell u that 1 alternative already there u r adding 2 one like this u can create alternative BOM.
For giving usage probablity then go to item details of material E and there enter alternative group u can enter here anything like A1 or anything then one window will pop after u hit enter in that give priority then stratergy and usage probablity as 60% then save then go to item details of material C there enter the alternative group same as entered for E then maintain usage probablity as 40%.In this way u can maintain

HI ramakant shekap... ,
Still I have a doubt. For a particular bom of A parent material, what are all the child components?
1) A-B-C-E
(or)
2) A -B - C
If (1) is the case I have to maintain C as 40 % E as 60 %. Is it right
Then for (2) case what will ahppen.
Please explain my doubt

Hi
Structure will be as follows
A - 1 Pc Quantity is for example only
Components B - 1 Pc
C - 1 Pc 40%
E - 1 Pc 60%
if u create the order for A of 100 pc then in order the component will show as
B- 100 pc, c - 40 pc & E - 60 Pc
If u want to use C as 100 % or E as 100% every time then u go for alternative BOM as u said 1 ) A -B-C
2) A- B -E here no need to write the alternative and usage probablity
if u want to go with usage probablity then go as i written above means in same BOM will contain C & E
if any doubts pls write

Hi Vamsi,
As per my understanding you need to have two line items in BOM with Usage Probability right?
Select line item "0010" and go to its detail you find the Field "AltitemGroup"
give some number say "1"
you get any popup screen with fields Altitemgroup, Priority, Strategy, Usage Probability. fill them as per your requirements.
then Select another line item which you want to make the alternative of "0010" say "0030" repeat the procedure, i.e. mark Field "AltiemGroup" as "1" by doing this you are basically grouping together two line items i.e. "0010" and "0030" with their Usage Probabilities.
Hope you are clear

Hi ,
For This situation may be it is convenient apply Phanton?
-The Father Product (X), have as component
the Prod A and it is replaced by A1 , using option Discontinuation DATA
The Prod B and it is replaced by B1 using option Discontinuation DATA.
Phanthom X
item A
Item B
Phantom X1
Item A1
Item B1
Constraints
Only we can use simultaneously A with B
or A1 with B1, (We can't use A with B1 or B with A1)
can anyone please explain

Hi,
Then where we have to include E child material in BOM, without creating another BOM.
we can"t include 2 child items C and E for parent A, Because C and E are similar materials. Can u please explain me the structure of BOM for parent A .Then for parent A what are all the child items included in cs01

so we have to maintain 2 boms for each alternative. is it right
