UOM change

Hi Gurus,

When i'm tryin to change the UOM for a material on the matmas, The system is giving the message " Standard cost estimate already exists for the current period for the val area? What needs to be done? All the stock has been removed and the all the documetns have been killed. There is no open docs right now

Hi

If a standard cost estimate already exits you can just delete the standard cost estimate and then change your UOM.

Std. Cost estimate can be deleted using CKR1 transaction, do that and then change UOM.

how do i change the UOM. I took care of the standard cost estiamte error. do i have to use 201 and 202 combination or what other movement types. The UOM need to be changed from EAB to EA. Wont there be a mimatch if i use 201 to give out the EAB unit and when i canceel the mat doc which effectively does a 202 to take in as EA?

Hi

If you are doing a 201 and then changing the UOM , then please donot cancel the 201 document, create a new 202 posting. in that way only you will get back the stock in the correct UOM.

Please ask your FI consultant to run the cost estimate to update with latest price and try changing the UOM.

Dear Vemulapati,

When you have stock in perticular material you canot change UOM because you have already stock and that stock belongs to documents are generated,

so better way do post or remove all stock and do what you want ,if have any dout do test inially in newly created material.

I backed out all the stock. There is no existing documetns. The error just says the cost estiamte already exists. Thats all it says

There is no error number. It pops up on the material master, when you try to change the unit of measure

Kindly check MR21 with that material and change the price to "0" and try.
