Unrestricted stock in storage locations for maintenance orders using fiori apps

Hello Experts!

We are implementing the corrective maintenance process (BH1) in S/4HANA Cloud, Private Edition, and are aiming to manage everything through Fiori apps. During testing, we encountered an issue: when a maintenance order consumes a material that is out of stock in any storage location, the system allows the process to proceed without showing any error or message in the Fiori app (Create/Change Maintenance Order).

For example, when performing the same process in the SAP GUI transaction (IW31/IW32), the system displays the unrestricted-use stock as a field in the storage location search help, as shown below:

However, when we open the storage location search help in the Fiori app, the stock information is not available:

We would like to know if there is a similar functionality that allows us to view unrestricted-use stock in specific storage locations, similar to the SAP GUI, or if there is an option to activate a warning message. Alternatively, is it possible to extend the search help functionality in the Fiori app to add the stock fields using ABAP code ?

Thank you in advance for your help and best regards!

Hello David,
If you are talking about Spare Parts Consumption (movement 261) check out the Fiori App 'Perform Maintenance Jobs'.
Once work order is planned, spare parts are assigned - you can book consumption there, and if there is no stock - u got an error straight in the app.

However, if you mean, that you want to see the unrestricted stock during planning, during spare parts assignment - most probably u need a small development.
On the other side it's a bit tricky.
It's not about planning work and using spare parts which are on the stock.
It's about assigning the right spare parts, and if there is no stock - buying them.

Have a look at the app and let me know what u think.
Cheers,
Dan

Hi,

You're right; our need is to view the stock information at the planning level. However, after checking the app, we found that it has very useful functionalities, so I believe we will proceed with the standard version.

Thank you for the clarification.

Best regards,
