Hi Priyanka,

If you want post the unplanned depreciation, you can post it using t-code ABAA at the "Group Asset" level to which the asset in question is assigned.

With this "Group Asset" concept we can group together number of assets for calculation and posting of depreciation and the very purpose of assignement of an asset to group asset, is to maintain the depreciation at higher level than the individual asset level in order to meet certain tax reporting requirements. So once an asset is assigned to group asset, depreciation will always be at the GAMR level.

Thanks,

Jyothi

Hi,

When an asset is assigned to a group asset (assignment can be possible area wise), depreciation will no longer be maintained at individual asset level, but it is calculated and maintained at the group asset level. So for an asset which is assigned to a group asset in a specific area, if you try to post the unplanned depreciation at individual asset level for that area, the system will not allow you to do so.

Hope this explaination will help you.

Thanks,

Jyothi
