unit of measures conversion issue - inforecord in PO

Former Member

We encountered unit oof measure issue when creating a PO.

We found out the error follows a certain pattern :

a) POs created for info record where all the condition types are maintained in the same unit of measure ( base or ordering nit of measure ) have no issue with unit of measure conversion in PO.

Assumptions:

-Material master isaintained in base and other unit of measures

-unit of measureconversio is maintained in the info record

b) POs created for info record where all the condition types are maintained in different unit of measures ( base and ordering nit of measure ) have issue with unit of measure conversion in PO .

Assumptions:

-Material master isaintained in base and other unit of measures

-unit of measureconversio is maintained in the info record

Is jemand out there who encounters the type issue?

I will be glad to receive your comments regarding that issue.

Thank you,

Emmanuel

Hi Emmanuel,

do you get an error? or just an unexpected conversion.

can you give an example ?

I get an expected esult:

for example we maintained 1 case = 48 ea in material master and info record.

Info record

PB00 Gross Price 270.00 USD 1 CS

ZWAC WAC 6.86 USD 48 EA

ZBLP List Price 9.91 USD 48 EA

ZBNP Net Price l) 8.23 USD 48 EA

PO

In PO I got for ZWAC 1 case = 1 each which is wrong

I hope that helps you understand the issue.

I remember a simiilar case. When the alternative unit is not yet maintained in material master, then the user gets a pop-up to enter the conversion rate while maintaining info record conditions. if I am not mistaken then this pop-up has a default of 1:1 conversion, means 1 CS = 1 EA. Users hit enter and this conversion is stored condition specific with the info record.

open your info record, click conditions button, select condition type ZWAC, and click details button.

Now you the button for conversion factors is active. click it and you should see if there is a conversion maintained that is different than the expected.

Thank you for the reply.

I checked that. Everything is maintained correctly.

Forgot to say that did not solve the issue.

We were able to solve the issue.

The problem was due to the fact that we maintained the condition category field with the basic price the condition type we dealt with. Because of that, it was not possible to convert the unit of measure to any other unit other than the base.

We blanked the field " Condition Category " in condition type , and that solves the problem.

SPRO --> Materials Management --> Purchasing > Conditions> Define Price determination Process --> Define condition Types --.

Select The condition type and blank the field " condition category".

I hope that helps other colleagues who may encounter the same issue.
