Umbrealla codes for products

We are looking for a way is SAP to have one specific product code whereunder we can have several suppliers to choose from that deliver the same product. Soa laa possible choices will have to be active useable options.

Example: One code for Toilet paper underwhich we have several suppliers that can deliver toilet paper. So currently our material number is linked to a supplier instead of a product

Its actually not possible if you are expecting that your vendor should also use same material code which you are using, because for you its raw material but for vendor it can be finished product and it can be vary from vendor to vendor!

what can be same is the description of the product and it can be very simple you can also use Ariba integration to use the same description of the product while executing the reverse auction!
