Transportation Relevance for Delivery Types

Hi,

we are using  delivery type LF worldwide. For our company in Germany this delivery type LF should become relevant for transportation as we are going to use shipments in future. Does this have any consequences to all other companies that won't use shipments? Is this flag just optional? That means shipment can be created but it's no must?

Hi,

Enabling transportation is only optional. Even if the delivery is relevant for shipment and route is also configured, it will still enable you to do picking and PGI without the help of shipment documents.

However there is a process discipline that needs to be adhered to for units where shipment is not necessary.

You can also restrict the transportation relevance using routes. This means that wherever shipment is not applicable, you can use one generic route or even go without it.

If you are concerned that somebody might add in a shipment some LF delivery by mistake, just determine for the other companies some route, which is not relevant for transportation (this is better than no route at all in the delivery).
